The original conflict broke out between President Salva Kiir\u2019s SPLA government forces and rebels loyal to former vice president Riek Machar around the strategically located town of Bor on December 15, 2013; it quickly spread out from Bor to the north to Unity State and south to the Central Equatoria State where the capital city, Juba is located.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.humanrightsleague.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/map_of_states_of_south_sudan1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-14009\" alt=\"map_of_states_of_south_sudan\" src=\"http:\/\/www.humanrightsleague.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/map_of_states_of_south_sudan1-300x226.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Map of states of South Sudan<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Since the conflict began twenty days ago, more than 1000 civilians have been killed and more than 300000 displaced according to reports by HRLHA\u2019s informants in Juba. Social services and basic necessity supplies for communities are almost paralyzed while tribal tensions and localized conflicts are on the rise<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Human Rights League of the Horn of Africa calls upon the United Nations (UN) , African Unity (AU) and sub-regional organizations\u00a0 to work together to halt the current crisis\u00a0 and rescue the youngest country before it escalates into an uncontrollable civil war.
